If I need to setup a static ip for my server, so that it's portable(applications can refer
to the same ip all the times)
(despite it may clash in the client site), do I use
connect physically to the network, a host only network, or create
new VMNet adapter
I understand that only 192.168.x.2 to 192.168.x.127 is usable
I also disable DHCP in the router.
I tried 192.168.0.126 in my guest os, and no gateway.
But it connects to the host machine, it pings but it cannot respond
I am back with NAT, strange enough it is assigned an ip of 192.168.200.131
all the times, is it assigned by the DHCP server of VMWare?
