Even the existing 21.5 model has no access to memory without tearing the whole thing down. The decision is about cost rather than space saving, just like what they had done to the mac mini. And if you are skeptical enough, you'll find it as an essence of our throw-away capitalist society. I still prefer apple products, but I'm not buy into whatever they are doing.
