Heliopan or Zeiss Filter

just bought a Zeiss 16-70mm F4.

in uk, heliopan ~ hk$300. zeiss ~hk$600 for UV filter.

from general report, heliopan seems better. but what about zeiss lens? will heliopan ruin the zeiss look? may be i should use Zeiss UV (T*) to keep the "zeiss" taste ?

i read the zeiss coating is softer than heliopan. but that's not too much of a concern since both provides protection. i might be cheap and get the heliopan first and see if this damages the "look".

zeiss filters are (mostly) made in Japan (by Sony ... I suppose)
heliopan filters are made in Germany
And I would choose heliopan

Similarly, I bought the Metz 44 AF-1 (for Nikon) for the sake of 'made in Germany'.   For instance, most of the OEM flash units (including mid to high-end) were made in China/Thailand.

How would you compare the filters from, say,  Heliopan and B+W, two "MIG" brands?

While B+W is more popular (in general), the coating of Heliopan is a bit better.
