ibm x3400 server with raid5 have to reinstall CentOS 5.3

Dear all,
The server was running Centos 4 with raid5, but now I have to reinstall the server with Centos 5.3 on the raid 5.
I have one question:
I want to reinstall the os (centos 5) with raid5, do I need to re-config the raid for the New OS? Or it's simeple to install the OS in the current Raid 5 partition?

Basically, you can install directly on your RAID 5 partition, perhaps, select format the partition when you install Centos 5.  But, you better to do a full backup of your Centos 4 system partition before you do the upgrade.  If you still have some space in the RAID 5 volume, you can also make another partition for Centos 5.  It will be safer, and allow you to retro-boot to Centos 4 if needed.

My 2 cents.
