What about if the user know how to disable wdiddle3? Will ...

I'm talking about the lifetime. While the Red is already running a NAS optimized firmware, I would suspect intellipower might be one of the factors that affects the avg lifespan of Red. Regarding the wdidle3, not sure if it helps or not. In addition, intellipower has been removed from the more advanced Red Pro series.
Previous experience indicated MTBF of WD blue series is nearly the same as RE (black). However, i did not aware 2T blue nowadays is 5400rpm..... low end model in all WD.
Anyway, i will go for Toshiba from now on
