Can virtual machine software connect a device directly?

I am using WIn7 x64 and my Canon print does not have a x64 driver.
I am not going to use dual system nor switching to x32 OS.

Is there any method so that I can use my printer?
Can virtual machine software help in this case?

Thank you very much.

I was originally using dual OS, XP +x64 Win7.

I on't know why I canot boot to XP now and it said /NTSLR is missing.
I recovered XP but then I cannot enter Win7.....then restore Win7 lose WinXP........again and again.
That's why I hope that VM can help.

唔會woo,你recovery 佐xp後,正常真冇佐win 7 boot menu,之後你再放w7 隻dvd repair 就會出返boot menu 有w7 + xp

yes there are WinXP and Win7 in boot menu and it did work.
I don't know what I have wrongly done to make it suck.....
Now whenever I choose WinXP it read /NTSLR is missing.......
I tried to restore XP today and I successfully logon to XP while I lose 7, then I repair with Win7 disc and lose XP again like the case I mentioned above.........then loop and loop.....
