wklie bro, recently there is something wrong with 3800D (warranty expired).
- record a TV show
- playback a previously recorded TV show at the same time
- suddenly the playback was aborted by itself
- the recording was also aborted
- while the playback was aborted, the recording (background) was resumed by itself
The above problem happens once a while (not frequent, may be once a week).
I've tried to perform check disk and format disk.
check system disk
LED panel : CHECKING 11 -> ERROR 127
then rebooted by itself
format system disk
LED panel : FORMATTING -> ERROR
then rebooted by itself
Although the system disk cannot be checked and formatted, it's still usable (can save recordings).
In addition, I've no problem using an external 2TB hdd for recording.
Questions:
This kind of problem was usually caused by hdd bad sectors (or else)?
Is the hdd reaching the end of its life?

Anyway, serial numbers (hdd and mainboard) were remarked
In general, 3800D is good and stable.

Upgrade firmware, check / format HDD.

The last two times I got Error 127, they were both due to Ext HDD failure.

我屋企個部8000D 都係東芝 1TB..
一買番來就拆出來..之後而家如同垃圾 ...

You mean ... you just put aside the 1TB and not using it since then
My 3800D's 1TB is very busy, 24x7 non-stop running for nearly 2 yrs.

Yes. that is what I mean.. as I remember last times I saw the 1tb 2.5inch hdd is Mar2015. many many dust on the hdd.
1tb is really not enough for recording tv programme...
why dont you change it to 4tb? much more useful

3800D can only accomodate 2.5" hdd. I may replace a 2tb in the future.
