前幾天剛推出了Tomato 1.23，就順便測一下呢隻四年幾前的Linksys WRT54G v2，睇下四、五年前的Linksys Router到底能達到什麼速度
以下是Tomato 1.23的設定畫面，其中的TCP Vegas (TCP congestion control)幾好用，尤其在ＢＴ時效果更明顯

Linksys WRT54G v2 採用的是Broadcom BCM4712 200MHz CPU，再配搭16MB RAM和4MB Flash
現時來看配備唔算高，但勝在ＤＩＹ空間大，亦有非常多的3rd Party Firmware可供選擇，真係想玩那一方面的功能都可以，難怪WRT54G已成為全球最多人討論及改裝的Router
使用 iperf 軟件測試時，最高流量約為29Mbps，即3.6MB/s左右
↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
經FTP軟件測試WRT54G v2下載速度，最高可達3.25MByte/s
↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
接下來是上載測試，經FTP測試WRT54G v2上載速度，最高可達2.33MByte/s
↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
若同時進行Download和Upload，則下載速度為1.42MByte/s，而上載速度為1.78MByte/s，總速度合共為3.2MByte/s
即Linksys WRT54G2 v2的雙向處理效能就是3.2MB/s，而這亦差不多是此Router的極限速度了

tomato support 的 router 始終太少...

tomato support 的 router 始終太少...
有部份用戶覺得DD-WRT功能多但比較慢，而Tomato就功能少但速度比較快亦較穩定，尤其係對一些舊型號兼容性會比較高，所以可說是各有優缺點

係, 個sp1係好唔掂...
pre sp2加強左個usb support, 有automount, proftd, etc., 真係方便好多.

Yes, you can upgrade it from the old version, but you have to clear NVRam after upgrade. I have tried it before from the stock version v1.22 to victek v1.23 with no problem.

No. Except for "mega" build, you can use all other versions for broadcom chips with size below 4mb.
