Review: Zy-brand auto wash soap

Introduction引言:
A car wash shampoo from the famous Zy-brand.  I heard some of their products is OEM-ed by Animal-brand, and I was generally not impressed with those.  I am not sure about the rumors, but let's see if this Zy-brand auto wash soap works?

- Safe for all finishes
- pH balanced

3. Construction構造: baby blue plastic container with grey screw cap.  Satisfactory build quality in my opinion and should hold the products years with no problem.  In fact the manufacturer states that shelf life is 7 years MINIMUM.

5. Scent馝馞: fresh and sweet scent I like it way more than another Z-brand!
6. Price價格: MSRP USD$19.00 or $10 according to the Table
7. Cost成本: $0.23/wash according to the Table

We shall see some photos first and rejoin for the pros, cons and verdict.

No instruction on how much product was seen on the bottle.  Give them a call or read from the Table for accurate information.  Theese sources will tell you the correct dilution ratios.
As usual, two buckets for paint and Grit Guard are necessary.


As I progress through the wash, I realized one interesting observation.
My rinse (dirty) bucket is having a lot of snowy frost.
This is one tough shampoo!


Wash mitt glide across the paint and glass smoothly.
Soap rinse clean easily no need to come back and repeat like some products.
The gloss and slickness leave behind is great.






Pros優點:

+2 Concentrated up to 1:800 = 6.25x more than other brands like Megs

1. Cant get my wheels clean you need another thing for that.

Conclusion結論:

This is a Mazda of car wash soap - easy going, reliable and inexpensive.

pH 8.0 in concentrated form - should be pretty balanced if you use it per the Table / manufacturer recommendation.  It is easy on your skin, and gives clear coat safe results time after time.  Ingredient analysis confirmed the soap mainly rely on surfactant.  No harsh acid / alkaline was found.

Zy- gets your car clean with great results that is easily achieved.  You will not get bored in the process with mild fresh scent and frosty suds.  There are stronger cleaning or tougher suds soap on market, but I am happy with Zy- on my own car.  Mazda is not the fastest or loudest car on road, but it get you to market for daily grocery, drive your kids to school no problem.  They can be fun to drive too.  You are in wrong place if you want that from a Mazda.

Cost per use calculations show that it is an economical soap to use as well.  Aint that another property of Mazda?

However, marks must be deducted for not explicitly stating the dilution ratio on bottle.  Also, the instructions on web site are different from the bottle.

I have used the shampoo more.
The shine it gives to my 50000km car is really good.
Some may wish it has stronger cleaning, but my conclusion that it is a solid product still hold true.

Yoda,

I had no issues for using the Zy Auto Wash to clean my paint and glass.
They wont get my wheels clean like some very strong soaps, but otherwise any reasonable things I throw at it, it returned satisfactory results.
You may try it and see if you like it. In my humble opinion it is a good mild soap for maintenance, not for cleaning a car soaked in mud.

I have used shampoo from common brands like 🐮, 🐢, Moms, Megs or MMM.
I would respectfully disagree with you on "Turtxx is a cheaper brand".
These 4 brands are for rich people.

I bought Megs GC Shampoo for $148/64oz ($2.3125) in Causeway Bay.
I bought Zy Auto Wash for $118/48oz ($2.45833) in Taikoo.

🐮, 🐢, Moms, Megs or MMM are acceptable products.
But when compared, the Zy Auto Wash:
+1. much slicker
+2. 6x more concentrated
+3. very glossy results

Conclusion:
Zy Auto Wash is better and cheaper.

    Not really.
One of the most popular car waxes product in Euro was American's Collinite and Finish Kare.
People use them on cars, boats, trucks, piano, floor, dining table etc.
If something has shiny surface, you can wax it.

If Zy- is mild soap, what heavy duty soap would you recommend? For both body and wheel?
As I parked at dusty, shiny, outdoor area with trees and bird poo poo.

    Hi,

I think I wrote a review on other soaps.
I cant find the posts now, but I can share you some photos.
They are even slicker and glossier than Zy-brand, and very strong cleaning power.
See if I can update you that review post later.

You did not tell me when, how, or what ceramic coating you used.
So I cannot tell you a suitable recommendation.
I would think any normal car wash soap without wax is good option?

However, I have some general question to ask your coating company:
You do coating because you want your car to be PROTECTED and EASY TO CLEAN.
If their coating will be destroyed by a normal soap, then do you think it is even worse than no coating car?

Thanks bro. Unfortunately it seems that the water stain is tougher than polymer sealant. Vineger does not work (though I only have apple cider vineger). I have even tried using tooth paste and supersonic toothbrush. Its driving me nuts!

I did the Gtec Crystal Serum Ultra on body and PPF on my engine hood before CNY.
But after i parked my car on airport indoor car park for 10days, it cover with a thick layer of dust and not easy to remove.....-____-"
That's why i want to look for a suitable wash shampoo to wash by myself and want to retain the ceramic coating by "Exo" or "C0 Aero Coat". (cause i dont trust Gtec anymore as i think the surface not smooth enough)

It is not the first time I heard unsatisfactory user feedback on Gt-brand coatings.
A guy I know, Mr. E- from HKMBC, had Gt-brand coatings on his silver E-class. It was all gone and yellowish in a few months.

I do not want to comment on Gt-brand products.
But I can make a suggestion on car wash soap.
If you pass by Shatin, I give you a free sample to go home try.
Your car will be glossy and slick as new car in showroom afterwards.
Yes it is free of charge as always like my other posts here.

It's kinda difficult to get a good photo - it's only visible with a dark background when lights are from an overhead angle and I am looking at it at a certain angle. It's not noticeable when I am looking straight ahead but once I notice it its like dandruff on my shoulder - if you know what I mean.   Anyways it must be three year old water stain accumulated on the area outside the wiper blade cleaning area.  I started notice it a few months ago (my car is three years old) and have been trying to clean them ever since.

I will try to take some photos tonight and I will be most grateful if you can point me to the right direction to get rid of them.

It's "digitally enhanced" .  The real thing doesn't look as bad as that.  The blurry part is the area outside of the wiper blade swipe area.  I guess it's caused by rain deposit and my laziness to clean the windshield thoroughly for the part three years.

    Sorry I dont want to mention full names or give product photos.
Got flamed too many times online.
But D151 is a product that is only offered in 32oz or 1 gal.

Of course, many brands offer similar products that have similar function.
I just pick what I know.

    D151 is a magical product it can do anything you want.
It is truly professional product, so easy to use and available in professional sizes.
Btw, I know they have a new product that is "improved D151" that I use on my own cars too.

What can D151 do?
