Yesterday I bought the Nintendo Switch from Fortress with 2 games.

I didn't get time to post last night as I had a dinner party and got home late.     I also didn't have the other accessories last night so I picked the other accessories from Golden Computer Shopping Arcade today.

The model which I bought was the Neon color controller.  My 5 year old daughter and wife preferred it from the grey one.   Yes, this console I got to play with my family.  The party games I will play as a family and the other games like Zelda, Mario, etc I will play in my spare time at night after work.   

I picked up the 2 games I wanted: 1 2 Switch and Zelda.   Both are HK / Japanese version.  I was worried if they will be able to be played in English but after reading online from some sites in the US, I got confirmation that they can be played in English (voice and text).     So I am good to start playing right away.

The other accessories I picked up are:
1) 9H quality screen protector (good quality)
2) Nintendo Switch Controller (good quality)
3) joycon case

There is a case and screen protector bundle for $150 or so.  Don't get that one.  The quality of the case and screen protector sucks.   Get the 9H quality screen protector from Hori and the high quality case from Hori.

Finally I am glad I was not able to sell my 200gb microsd card 90mb/s last week.   I can now use it for my Nintendo Switch.   I have read that Zelda will take up 13gb storage.  You only get 25gb storage out of the box and from that 13gb goes to Zelda. Lol.   You need an external storage card for sure.

200gb no good for Nintendo Switch?

My friend in the US said he will use a 256gb card.  Soon more and more games will be released (especially arcade games)

Your internal storage should have at least 10gb free.

又唔係唔好既, 係有冇需要問題,
首先, 因為啱啱先出, 有冇咁多GAME啱你玩?
而且有唔少遊戲都話製作中, 發售時間表都冇, 分分鐘延期幾次
再者你係要買數位版, 先會有需要用到咁大容量,
數位版既壞處包括, 多數會比實體版貴, 同埋冇得賣返出去

同埋nand flash呢D電子產品, 長遠黎講會跌嫁嘛,
雖然呢幾個月nand flash都升左唔少

最重要都係你睇返自己需要, 最多咪虧少少放返張micro sd出去囉

Agreed the digital version will be more expensive than the physical one.   However, some arcade games will not be available in retail.   I am hoping for some Wii U games to release in the future, too.

    You guys are forgetting that I didn't buy the 200gb microSd especially for the Nintendo Switch.  I had it from before which I had put for sale at HKEPC but couldn't sell it even for $400.  So I had kept it.  Now I will use it for the Nintendo Switch.

Who know after a few months we may be able to play download games lol!!!

Are you guys playing games in English or Japanese?  I believe there is no Chinese support now right?

I called Nintendo last week and spoke to the manager.  I asked him why some places are giving 2 years warranty and some only 1.

According to him all HK stock only has 1 year warranty by Nintendo.  However, Prowell is a dealer in Shum Shui Po and they are offering an additional 1 year warranty on their own for their stock.   So the repair for the 2nd year will be taken care by them.   So if any problem on the 2nd year you have to deal with Prowell and there is no guarantee if the repair will be free as conditions apply.

I went ahead and got the extended warranty coverage from Fortress for $350 which gives my switch an additional 2 years warranty (Total 3 years).  This way, any problems I face in second or third year, I can take the console to Nintendo and have them repair the problem officially and then I pay for them and then claim it back from Fortress.    This will be safer since official parts will be used for repair.

Tablets are delicate and with alot of gaming the LCD or battery can be overheated by use so best to have more than 1 year warranty.

This is the most expensive game console of all time, with all this puzzle like accessories ,it seems only a few hundred per piece but you end up spending few thousand only on those over priced peripherals

其實呢次N記跟SONY PSN果個玩法, 一個帳號買左可以無限下載...
我記得好似3DS咁...係跟機....唔見左或壞左機要重新買過....
咁樣已經值得買大容量SD卡...

而且遲早N記一定有PS PLUS呢種月付方式既...到時200GB都唔夠用...

YOu think it is worth for me to change my screen protector to glass one?

I got the Hori 9H screen protector.  It is pretty decent.  



Not sure if glass will be better or not.

What do you think?

I know the iMos Glass screen protector is coming next week.  May be I can consider that one if glass is really better.
