For your usage, just +
8GB ram & 256GB SSD would be more than enough...
Actually this upgrade just spend $400 on the 8GB ram !
The SSD could switch to the complete new system build at a later date, but this should be the most important hardware what you pay for...

I agree ssd improves your system a lot! and 3T hdd is cheap now for bt.
just fyi, my ipcam 好像叫wen, no need to connect to pc, just router, and use little bandwidth.
