英特爾首席執行官鮑勃·斯旺辭職，VMware首席執行官帕特·基辛格接替他

英特爾首席執行官鮑勃·斯旺（Bob Swan）將於2月15日卸任，該芯片製造商周三宣布，將由VMWare首席執行官帕特·蓋辛格（Pat Gelsinger）取代。

CNBC的戴維·法伯（David Faber）宣布這一消息後，英特爾股價上漲了約10％。VMWare的股票下跌超過5％。

在擔任臨時首席執行官七個月之後，斯旺於2019年1月被任命為首席執行官。

在Swan任職期間，英特爾遭受了競爭對手的打擊。去年夏天，英特爾報告稱，在AMD筆記本電腦內部已經出貨的情況下，最新一代芯片將被推遲。蘋果在秋天宣布將在Mac計算機中使用自己的專有芯片，從而打破了與英特爾長達15年的芯片供應合作夥伴關係。

丹·勒布（Dan Loeb）的Third Point對沖基金在12月敦促英特爾董事會探索“戰略替代方案”。在此之前，英特爾失去了競爭對手AMD，三星和台積電的市場份額。

Third Point敦促英特爾放棄“失敗的收購”，並批評英特爾“失去製造業領導地位”。據路透社報導，該公司最近收購了英特爾約10億美元的股份。

聽到天鵝離職的消息後，勒布稱他為“一種集體行為”，並說“對於所有利益相關者離開基辛格（Gelsinger）來說都是正確的做法”。

批評人士指出，英特爾首席執行官此前並非曾擔任過CFO，他並非來自技術背景。使用Gelsinger，情況將不再如此。基辛格此前曾在英特爾工作，最終成為其第一任首席技術官。

英特爾表示，這一宣布與其財務業績是分開的，並表示預計2020年第四季度的收入和收益將超過之前的預期。該公司表示，其最新一代的7納米芯片“取得了長足進步”，並表示將在1月21日公佈收益時進行討論。

Intel today has released a press statement saying that current CEO Bob Swan (who we interviewed only a few days ago!) is to step down in his role, and be succeeded by Pat Gelsinger. Gelsinger, a veteran of the industry, has spent over 40 years at companies such as VMWare, EMC, and spent 30 years previously at Intel, reaching the potisition of Chief Technology Officer. In that role he drove creation of standards such as USB, Wi-Fi, he was the architect of the 80486, and played key roles in 14 generations of Intel Core and Xeon processors.

Pat Gelsinger係前I人禾。最高去到CTO位。CES之後就換人仲要搵返前CTO俾我嘅感覺係個board對今年嘅Products Line無咩信心。一了百了，痛定思痛搵返個Tech人孭飛。對I嚟講係好事。
