That's true only if you turned on the setting 錄影完成後自動待機 (default off).  This setting is not yet incorporated into MTV9x00.

Tested 12.09 beta mute function works with my LG TV in Live TV, recorded programme playback, and YouTube.  Please make sure Bitstream setting is set to OFF.

HK Digital TV / DVB subtitles are bitmaps (pictures) prepared by broadcasters, like DVD subtitle, and totally different from typical external subtitle such as .srt or .ass .  If a certain character is missing, it would be a limitation with the subtitle preparation system used by the broadcaster, instead of STB.

Unless the Magic TV USB outputs a voltage that it is too high - which is extremely unlikely and never happened before, there is no technically possible way a Magic TV will directly cause your HDD to fail.

The MTV9x00 recording and USB side hardware is 100% the same as MTV3300D / MTV3800D.
