i-cable - how to get new IP?

Hi

Does any CHing know how to get a new IP for i-cable home broadband?

Tried turning off the modem overnight but IP remained the same. Possibly bound to MAC address?

Can IP address be altered without having to call customer support?

use another device ( e.g . PC ) to connect modem directly , then go back to use router

Most router should have a function called "Release IP".  Try it ?

Thanks for your suggestions.

However, I meant that the service is possibly bound to the MAC address of the cable modem, which explains why shutting it overnight does not result in a new IP address.

Perhaps I need to access i-cable modem's admin interface to release the IP, but how?
