Seems like it is related to your network card driver (NIC). Either you have installed wrong driver or your onboard NIC is bad. If you cannot make it after correcting the driver on board, try to borrow or buy PCI network card instead. A cheap 100Mbps network card is around $30-50, should not a big deal.
