"The reviewer's comment was about a month ago.   It seems Intel is going to 'give up' the 8th gen and quickly releasing 9th gen models (indeed numerous i5 i7 9xxx models have been announced).

I'm using 2nd gen i5-2410M (notebook) and 7th gen i3-7130U (mini pc), both are running Win 10.  If you are comfortable with your 4th gen cpu, I think you can just keep using it.  It seems you will need to upgrade to Win 10 for newer gen cpu (eg. 7th/8th)."
