Defective power brick?

Hi

Just built a DeskMini A300 for a friend.

3200G with AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler (after removing shroud).

Blank screen. No Post.

Tried all the usual troubleshooting tasks (incl. clearing CMOS with a screwdriver, disconnecting the CMOS battery, removing one RAM module, etc). Still no Post.

UPDATE: Front panel power LED and HDD LED never light up, even though CPU cooler fan is spinning. Bad news? Could this be a motherboard failure?

Looking back, I fully tightened all four screws securing the AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler, so that no further tightening is possible. Could this be the "No Post" cause?

Did any CHing have a similar "No Post" experience with the A300 (esp. using AMD Wraith Stealth CPU cooler)? If so, did you loosen the four CPU cooler screws and got Post again?

How much should the four screws be loosened? Half a turn? One full turn?

Any suggestions most welcome!

Try reinstalling the CPU?
Beware of the sticky thermal paste, CPU may stick to the heatsink when pull the heatsink out.

The A300 power brick is 19V 6.32A 120W.

Is it safe to use another 19V power brick with a smaller wattage to test the A300?

I have a 19V 3.42V 65W power brick from an old Gigabyte mini computer.

Thanks for any input!

Thanks.

I loosened the four AMD CPU cooler screws a little and the A300 still did not post.

Since the Power and HDD LEDs still do not light up, I am thinking of using another 19V power brick to test if a defective power brick might be the cause.

I'll reinstall the CPU after exhausting all possibilities. I did check the CPU after putting it in.
