THX

Notebook

Power Supply

110v~240v input

remember the plug in Canada isn't the same, so you need adapter but those are easy.

If you buy TV cards, make sure it support Canada TV standard or you will have problems, I had that before, bought a TV card to Canada and then it didn't work had to buy the same card there, felt stupid >.>;

irrc, gift doesn't get taxed, so if you are really unsure about tax issue, you can just declare it as gift and maybe wrap it up to make it look like a gift

Like other Ching said, PSU normally support 110v~240v, should be a switch on the PSU, make sure when you buy it it has that. I bought a PSU to Canada to use and it didn't have problem.

Do remember the warranty issue, don't really think PC parts in HK support full international support services, might have to pay some fees, or ship it back to HK, that can be a pain.

Unless it is very cheap in HK, and/or it isn't found in Canada, I personally prefer to buy most of the parts there for the warrant issues.

Not everybody will ask to open package for check in canada customs. It just like HK customs at airport.
If you are going to land with landing paper, you can bring as much item as you can and no tax!!! Even ship by container!!!!
Don't worry! computer is very common item right now.
many country is tax free right now for personal use.
