因為 PC hardware components 用電既轉變，由以前既少部分，變為今日既大部分 hardware 都依賴 +12V 供電，所以降 +5V 而谷大 +12V 呢種做法其實係好合理既。你可以留意返我個 post 所提到既資料：

+5V： HDD、DVD rom drive、floppy drive、PCI device、USB/firewire/KB/mouse、mainboard、ram、agp display
+3.3V： PCI device、mainboard、agp display
+12V： HDD、DVD rom drive、CPU、mainboard、PCI-E display、case fan

再對比返從前 D PC 既資料：

你就會明白當中既分別，同埋谷 +12V 既原因。

至於話 +5V 唔夠電，呢個………通常係只會有剩，唔會唔夠，事關已經冇乜真正食電既 hardware 用到 +5V ………USB 本身既供電係非常之低，USB2 只用 100mA(0.1A) per connector，而 USB3 都只係用 150mA，6 個 USB3 都只係用 900mA，連 1A 都唔到，所以完全唔存在唔夠用既問題。
(更正： 應該係 USB2 500mA per port，USB3 900mA per port)

i am sure you are wrong. you should try to check, for USB 2.0, is that 100 or 200mA is enough for driving even a 2.5" HDD?

係……真係錯左。應該 USB 2.0  1個port 最大供電 500mA，USB 3.0  1個 port 最大供電 900mA……真係死得
