Digicame-info posted the first picture and specs of the upcoming Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM lens. Announcement is expected very soon.

    Lens arrangement 5-group, six (Construction: 6 elements in 5 groups)
    Full-frame compatible)
    Digital optimized coating (The lens coating is optimized for digital cameras)
    Stepping motor (STM)
    Full-time manual focus
    Total length 39.3mm
    Weight 160g

I guess this will be the new Nifty-Fifty, i.e. this lens will replace the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II (the Nifty-Fifty). And, as you can see, it seems there is no IS on board. B&H has refurbished EF 50mm f/1.8 II on sale for $79.99.

舊50/1.8 不嬲都係玩具鏡, 佢用番膠我覺得係貫徹始終啫

起碼今次用金屬mount

看來大光圈與IS還是不能並存。
唔知這鏡STM是不是LeadScrew Type，如果係就應該好夾M3來做人像鏡，效果應該會不錯。
