Beaware!!! EPS Charge when Purchasing Ext WD HHD

Planned to purchase two WD Passport 1TB HHD today. At least 3 different vendors attempted to charge EPS charge for the purchase. Also, they charged different rates. One charged 1.5%, the other charged 1%, and one charged $6 flat rate for each hard disk.

When asked why did they have EPS charge this year? They said everyone charge EPS this year because the margin for selling ext HHD is too thin.

Otherwise, I have to go to pay cash.  I told I did not have so much cash with me. They told you to go to ATM outside. I then asked them whether I should pay $20 to come back in. They then said the EPS charge was cheaper and less troublesome.

C-Hing, please double charge whether there will be EPS charge before closing the deal!!!

    I finally bought Seagate ext HHD's.

U can complain to EPS. EPS does not allow EPS fee to customer directly and they may terminate the merchandise if they find out.

    The way they presented is they have the rights to charge the customers for the EPS charge. Once I found that different vendors charging different rate, I believe that this is a scam.  I told another vendor who is selling sd card about this, he told me the EPS charge is less than 1%.

    The problem here is none of the vendors indicated the price is "CASH Price ONLY; EPS will have surcharge". Again, this is not the normal practices when comparing to the past computer shows.
