As they are stuck with the usual development cycle (4 to 5 years for one new arch.) and waiting fo ...

The main issue is they dragged on Faildozer too long ......
and now they have one year with virtually NO NEW product to sell @ CPU ( Carrizo ? They don't plan to sell on Desktop "Low GP market" and OEM/ODM refused to use it on Laptop/Tablet as they are not competitive ... they have nice Jaugar / Beema for low-end and they give it up for whatever XXXX reason. ( They should have make quite competitive with the new Atom IF AMD continue develop it but instead , AMD said they QUIT and tell people to "WAIT FOR ZEN we will be back ! "
It sounds like full of crap , they are losing market share in ALL FRONT
GPU losing to nVIDIA Maxwell based solution
CPU all they have left is the "APU" low end market , Performance PC user will go for Intel as their "FX" is 3 years old pair with 5 years old chipset old tech
And now they said they can't make enough margin at low-end PC and they will raise margin by leaving those "low profit" market ( giving up the remaining market share , lol )
Console chip sales is "LOW GP" , do this mean AMD will give it up too ?
Lets hope Zen isn't Faildozer 2.0 .....if that's the case AMD is dead *yawn*
They spent too much "future" but ignoring the "market reality"
Giving up "Market share" and betting on one "STAR" product won't save them (IF it fail its GAME OVER for AMD )
Good luck to AMD Titanic ..... RIP @ 2016 |
