    As said before, usually wifi signal strength of commercial grade indoor APs is weaker than commercial grade APs/wifi routers.

#15 is asking if an Ubnt AP has stronger signal strength than EA8500 which is a high-end model from Linksys so he could establish stable wifi connections 2 walls away from where the AP is located. I therefore suggested that replacing the Linksys wifi with an Ubnt AP won't help him overcome his problem.

If #15 is willing to deploy an ADDITIONAL AP in where wifi signal of the EA8500 is incapable to reach then this is a solution.

    u may refer signal strength to the radio power which is probably low for the standalone AP product. however, due to its specialty and design, it will perform better than home wifi router even with lower radio power.

You know, it is meaningless to count only on the power strength for the overall reception of wifi connection.

    Sure.... EA8500 is dual band AC2600 with MU-MIMO tech. to compare with the same extern, u need to take latest ubnt AP "UAP‑AC‑HD" as target which can serve 500+ wifi Users

Having MU-MIMO and additional 2.4GHZ and 5GHz channels won't help overcoming signal blockage of 2 solid walls.

我自己用過好多好多AP

我屋企眼鏡房,但兩間房既牆都係主力牆,成尺厚..用過呢到N咁多隻推介 LINKSYS NETGEAR DRAYTAK ASUS 乜野最TOP MODEL都玩哂.. 都係會係房有死位 最後換左UBNT之後先有一個點收得唔穩定.其他地方都收爆哂.. 所以我好滿意

P.S. 而家我仲要加多個WALL MOUNT版係房.連果個收我唔穩定個點都無埋...


我裝修前已經用呢隻AP. 當時係打橫放係櫃. 係隻AP 背面既位係收得差過正面(TEST上) 使用上都係3格同4格既分別.. 用到穩定就算
