好多時新firmware仲多bug要降級
特別係公司，唔會隨便升級

咁唔使擔心, 3rd open source FW有stable板同埋beta版嘅, stable版好多萬人試過冇問題先至會擺上去的。

用得免費第三方，預左後門所有控制權係官方手上，某程度上第三方唔郁你就安全，否則...
如果係完全open source的話，會更加唔安全，全世界人都知後門，問題係有無價值郁你，所以大公司一定唔會用免費第三方，有起事上黎追究邊個？都無比錢

第三方營運手法係，用免費吸引左一定量客戶後，就會轉賣公司，後門就會被新公司接管，條舊橋用極都係騙到人，所以用第三方都某程度要有心理準備，唔係完美

用左差不多有14年ddwrt,由wrt54g開始玩到現在,你所講open source有後門我就唔同意,個個deveopler都會睇code,一有事/有人發現問題就會好快有人report bug,所以fix得好快,只要夠多人用同多deveopler,我覺得ddwrt出fix 仲快過原廠,有好多時fix太快都唔係好事,所以forum會好多人問stable ver,我以前都係玩開alpha/beta ver,但係core network都係用stable/beta build會好O的,反正又唔係有新野/performance update
所以一直支持open source software同3rd party firmware多年

and do not understand the reason behind data collection.

we only hear stock firmware have bugs / issues / backdoors and rarely hear DDWRT / OpenWRT / Tomato / Padavan / etc... have issues.

I believe so either,I swear those users must gonna yell out at DEV if open source code done any stupid(I flashed some memories about tomato long long ago about collecting stats and people yelled at DEV right away
