Tell you want, I did try "梅林".  The only good thing was the beautiful UI.  And the very bad wireless reception (especially the 5GHz, tried all kinds of fine-tuning) made me "冇鞋挽屐走" ... immediately returned to stock firmware!

"梅林" may be good for asus routers ... but not for R7000

    oh, thx for information
I put the router against the wall(with 天線 pointing out), and tuned official firmware region to US
(somebody said it would improve the signal)
however 5GHz signal is already not so well at the bedroom behind the wall.
I wonder if flashing the firmware into Merlin could improve the problem.
The recent official firmware releases makes no great improvements by feeling
The only thing that I have experienced is that the Qos in R7000 official firmware
is very very rubbish and caused lags in online games

regarding 5GHz, stock firmware is much better than merlin.  anyway, you can try the latest merln verion to check if there is any improvement

買大牌子就一定無問題, 就算有firware problem 一定會update
一係一換一
