I believe the build quality or the design of QNAP seems more professional (with many metal parts, LCD display and hot swapping drive). However, being a QNAP user, I haven't used a Synology before, so this might be a little biased.
For the software side, QNAP is also very well build. I have one experience that my TS-419P showed a red light on one of the disk. So what I did was pop-out the defective disk and then put in a new one. The NAS rebuilt accordingly...and here came the fun part, I unplugged the power cord by mistake, and then plugged in the power again. The NAS continued to rebuilt without a hitch...very bit of my data was there!
That's the reason why I would stick to QNAP. Just my 2 cents. |
