which modules were loaded. what is the dmesg ?
do you have the command "scan" or "t_scan" in your system ?

8558 is using atbm8830, it may be wrongly identified as d689 as well. can you unplug the d689 and do the "scan" again. w_scan will use the first adaptor (/dev/dvb/adaptor0) by default. so your result above may come from d689. i can watch tv with the command
scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/hk-HongKong > ~/channels.conf
vlc channels.conf
i think scandvb will do the same thing.
