I bought mine for $4380 with 8GB card and screen protector 2 and a half weeks ago.

My G1 is software unlocked by T-Moble Code.

Mine 3680 (brown) unlock by T mobile code....
Traded a x01HT for 950
Paid 2730 + 20 for screen protector ==> 2750

Happily using...
Now i figured out WM6.0 is sooo lag and slow!!!

Phone is not as "ugly" as a lot of you thought and it is solid build...
Good thing is OTA update work in HK so... I am now using lastest firmware RC30

In order to use it for full power... You have to use unlimited data plan~
people $98 plan is what i am using =P

Bad thing is the speaker is not loud enough and the virbration of the phone is not strong enough
We cant install app in SD card. (We can put mp3 video pics ringtone wallpaper there tho)
Therefore choose wisely of what you need to install from the Market although the app there are free.

I check the roadmap and the offical forum... google "promise" to work on it and when it is ready, we will recieve update. Flash is going to be ready for G1. May be it is something that what G1 can do but i phone cant =P

I am very happy with Google G1. The phone is not ugly by any means but it is bulky.   In time one will get used to it.  It is true that you will enjoy the phone more if you have unlimited data plan.

The volume of the phone is not that bad though I agree that the vibration is a bit weak.   

There are some minor bugs in the phone at the moment which surely will be fixed with firmware updates.  The only problem is timing.   Just hope that by the time the fixes are released by Google we don't go out and get another new phone.  

Hope they can release a firmware which will enable: bluetooth a2dp, installing applications to the SD card and virtual keyboard for quick replies to SMS messages.

I am told that an official chinese version will be released in Quarter 1 2009.  So the popularity will eventually be increased.  

Currently I am hoping that the android software can be installed in the HTC Touch HD.  Because I am tempted to get the HTC Touch HD.   But I don't want to use an outdated and boring windows mobile software.

because there are already 2 of the members are saying that the machines is selling around this range.. but i really dunno where is trust worthy enough to get one.

actually, i only know price around 4K everywhere...

I don't know but today I was at Sintat and I saw many shops selling the G1 for $3980.
