E5-2699 V4 still worth around $3K in the 2nd hand market!

If you don't need a workstation and aiming for a gaming PC only, sell it and use the money to rebuild a new PC

or

Just make a upgrade to your current machine to i7 and use the rest $$$ to buy your friend a dinner
