Why ASUS will separate 2 product line: Prime(normal user) & ROG (OC)?
It is not about ASUS ATM or just different design. The whole mobo design and optimization. The whole PCB design will be different, say using better component, more layers, less noise. Also, BIOS will be optimized, like unlock all setting, heavy tweaking for CPU & RAM OC.

Due to design limitation, K4 RAM will support be up 2933, reported by some users. Still, a lot of ppl facing RAM compatibility on this mobo. You may try v3.0 for better compatibility.

Also, Corsair LPX = low height PCB; Vengeance LED = Normal height PCB with LED; Vengeance RGB= Vengeance LED but with RGB; Dominator Platinum= Extra height PCB with better cooler system and maybe better binned chips. After all, they are still the same DIMM

For people really want to use Corsair RAM with Ryzen, please choose 32GB(2*16gb) 3466C16 or up except you can find v4.31 module

Already on 3.0 BIOS (Agesa 1.0.0.6a) still no hope

Either swap the memory or the mobo.
   
Swapping to Taichi may push your hynix ram to 2933 with 1.4v
Swapping to G.skill B-die  may give you 2933.

However,  I would keep those and wait for Ryzen 3 GEN

According to my experience, ASUS X370-Pro + 1600@ 3.6 + Corsair LPX 2*8GB 3000C15 (Hynix) can only push to 2666C15. However, swapping to G.skill 2*16GB 3400C16 (B-die) will give you 3200C16. Remember, X370-Pro still s*** on OC ability.

Fun Fact
Why there is something call "B-Die"? coz other types cannot reach tight setting, i.e. high freq. with low timing.

SO, for whatever brand, 3000C14, 3200C14, 3466up will be B-die for sure. G.skill Trident Z will be a perfect choice. Also, 2*16 module will be even better,i.e. higher chance to get b-die coz Hynix and Samsung B-die will be the only choice. Kingston 3333C16 2*8gb is using Samsung D/E-die(4gb)
