[購買問題] 請問2TB HDD?

電腦還在用2TB HDD做system disk, 想加一隻做RAID 1, 舊機不打算轉SSD,
很久沒買零件, 印象中以前買HGST. 求隱定的應該選企業版還是普通版?
爬文見大家主要推介Toshiba或WD, 但型號太多.

依加HGST 比WD 收購左

WD Enterprise  Ultrastar  = HGST

WD RED 係用SMR 唔建議買  Blue 就有機會都係

For system drive (C:drive) either stick to conventional (not recommended) or general enterprise
In my case I use Suckgate Constellation 1TB (suffix -0011)as system drive (still healthy after some 5+ years)

IMO for system drive (HDD) 1TB should be more than enough, unless you've installed a lot of programs (not user data) and such

Dun think function-specific HDDs eg. Red or Purple would be an appropriate choice
Also current Blue is no good deed either...

And since Gold is not available anymore in HK, if you'd like to stick with WD then Ultrastar (WD-branded) will be the only choice

WD's switchover to 7mm height and SMR strategy on its 2.5" (1+TB) is a joke
The entire chassis feels weak, also warranty has been decreased to just TWO freaking years...

Even the good old WD10JPLX (Black 1TB) has been discontinued some time ago...

If WD reverted to CMR strategy and 9.5mm height form on its 2.5" (1+TB) lineup I would be more than happy to invest on them as self-built external HDDs

紫盤  is video-specific and optimised for 7x24 surveillance purposes
No point to be used as system drive
