之後換番黎果隻如果唔賣二手, 就只能擺埋一邊等過保
一係就橫掂都係得個擺字, 放埋入機用, 結果又多個機會壞日後要買多隻黎 cover 哩隻
循環不息, 越買越多 hdd, 廠家贏晒

If we are going to RMA Toshiba (as well as recently purchased HGST NAS), we will get a 100% brand new replacement.

As per my experience, "Refurbished/Recertified" HDD dies prematurely (usually) after RMA.  For instance, having a WD enterprise hdd with 5 yrs of warranty is rather pointless if there is a chance of getting recertified item within warranty period.  I had one (wd enterprise, recertified) and died in a few months after rma.

    我換返黎嘅都係放係desktop度用算，學你話齋，凸咗嘅，放係NAS係冇意思。（我自己係有兩個NAS，另一個係用黎定時offsite backup。主NAS多咗個HDD，咁backup即係都要多個HDD……）

I bought a 160GB portable 2.5" HDD back in 2007, the brand is J.T. some 3rd party oem I think. Been using it over the years, dropped a few times and in general I wouldn't say I took good care of it well, e.g. occasional unexpected power lost and potential insufficient power over single usb.

Recently I removed it from its enclosure and put it into my NAS for datastore, and only then realise it is a Seagate but best of all it has "refurbished"  written on it. With much surprise it works faultlessly after what it has been through, which couldn't said to be true with those 3.5" even kept preciously.

    Yes I was referring to my Fried Chicken.  If you are correct, Toshiba looks better but still the resell price would not meet my intended price I guess; you know, any HDD in warranty would mean it's still new in owner's eye.
