In addition, as far as I know, MD04 is quite noisy (and not durable).

其實我覺得重點係温度
我之前一隻放機箱頂嘅Seagate 3t做backup 唔到3年死左
但機箱內有風冷嘅5 x 500gb 都只係死左一隻
500由08 09左右到16年

Yes, operating temp is a key factor.

Are you talking about st3000dm001?  I have one and died in less than 3 yrs.

Btw, 500GB is (relatively) more durable than 3TB.

成日壞個款
其實兩年幾都壞壞地
但low level format下又正常番
而家係咁壞
load一陣就有delay 成萬幾以左ms 幾分鐘先再正常速度 loop
我都吊左

當年DM001真係用到媽媽聲 從來未試過鑊到咁
Xander之後換咗Toshiba 2TB就無事 用到依家
之後Seagate Desktop HDD咪搞我

Regarding the Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB, yes it's cheap.  However my failure rate is 66.67% (3隻死兩隻).

I think the DT01ACA200 2TB might be a bit better (I still have one, aging 3 yrs+).

It seems T 2TB is more durable 3TB ... talking about DT01 series.
