As far as I know, DSM got no option for Quick or Full format, the only option is Format

Then I will always use the first option by default (did not notice the so-called QF).  I am using BTRFS and it took hours (many) to format and check my T 8TB and 6TB.  Anyway, I am not in a hurry

a little bit off topic, but I found that the new seagate 2TB HDD support TRIM, maybe it is related to SMR.

My hypothesis is the SMR drive can skip track re-shingling on TRIMed sector in order to improve the overwrite performance.

I think ST2000DM006 would be the last Seagate Desktop 2TB without SMR,  ST2000DM008 is single platter and 2cm in thickness, very likely it have drive managed SMR, RW speed is a little bit slower than 008, but spin-up is very quick.

其實一Delete個檔案之後20秒就會自動Fill Zero，同SSD一樣。
又或者用 defrag X: /u /v /l 行Re-TRIM，一行完剩餘空間全部變零。
