1. 正確

Something about "震動,共振問題本身HDD有抗震動"
There was a story about Toshiba DT01 3TB that was died in 5 mins after reinstalling into a NAS.
- I've two T DT01 3TB running in a qnap 251C (2-bay, Basic mode) for nearly 2 yrs w/o any problem.
- Months ago, bought a HGST NAS 4TB.
- Removed vol1 and installed the new hdd. vol2 (an existing T 3TB) remained untouched (螺絲都冇拔). Then started up the NAS
- The new hdd was noisy (expected) and the vibration level was a bit 'high'
- After a few mins, there was a weird hdd movement sound (quite loud). And it was suspected that the sound was came from the T 3TB
- SMART error was then prompted from QTS, the T 3TB got abnormal seek error values ... it was then 'died'
Finding(s)
- HGST NAS's vibration level was rather high. However, it has "抗震動".
- T DT01 does not possess "抗震動" (as far as I know)
- It was 'almost' confirmed that T DT01 was unable to handle "共振" if its neighbor's vibration level was high.
- HGST NAS "震死左" T DT01 ... in 5 mins
- Luckily the T 3TB was still under warranty. Upgraded to T MG04 4TB during RMA thereafter
- T MG04 has "抗震動" and it works fine with HGST NAS
ps. As I wanted to migrate to Synology, the 251C was sold thereafter. |
