It's quite a complicated process actually. I tried placing orders at the beginning with my AE cards but got cancelled by them. It took me two hours on the call with Dell customer service for them to finally put me through to their so called Credit Verification Department where a guy went through a manual verification process for me with my credit card. Now that my credit card is approved, I should be able to use the same credit card to buy anything from the US Dell website going forward.

I read separately here that another Ching bought from Dell using a DBS card without any problem though. I insisted on using AE because it gives me one year extra warranty on anything I buy.

isnt the ae extended warranty only applies for offline purchase (aka physical retailer) for laptop?

Not that I am aware of. To be honest I haven't ever claimed that insurance before so no real experience.

policies been changing for ae hk in recently years. be aware on their provisions. Their shopping protection isnt that protective as far as i understand.
