Are you talking about local users?

Buying at retail shop, we can check the notebook "immediately", if there is any problem, "immediately" open another one. And there is usually a 14 days of "一換一" policy in case of any problem discovered thereafter (things that we were not discovered at retail shop). And we are talking about just get back to that shop for "immediate" replacement.

我喺HK買部notebook去US用
咁算唔算local user？

個user喺邊用唔係重點
重點係同時間同價錢喺HK retail買到嘅notebook
同其他地方比較
spec，brand，model，generation etc

同價同brand人哋買到最新9th Gen CPU + 1660ti，HK retail就仲係7th / 8th Gen CPU + 1050，仲未必係gaming series

呢個狀況仲要係維持咗好幾年都係咁
所以我問，仲有咩原因喺HK買？  仲值得支持/供養呢班retail？

if you are buying a nb in HK to use in US (rather long term use). then it's not a typical local user.  In such case, i will buy it in US. As such, I could enjoy local warranty service (in US).

For a typical local user (using the device 99% of the time in HK), local hong good is the usual channel ... for the sake of local warranty service.  I did enjoy such service with my HP x360 (with 3 yrs of warranty), recently.  HP service center repaired/replaced faulty parts in 3 days!

Unless the brand has some kind of international warranty (well HP do have), water goods would not be serviced locally.

We know that local hong goods are "relatively'expensive'.  Not only for NB, even camera, mobile phones, mobile accessories, etc. ... they're are '"relatively expensive".  But buying local hong good is for ... convenience during warranty service.  If local warranty service is of no concern, getting stuff at amazon might be a better idea.

ps.  
As per my experience, the chance of a notebook having problem in the 2nd (and 3rd) year is NOT low.

For instance,
- my Lenovo's mainboard was dead in the 2nd year.  MB replaced during RMA.
- my HP x360's display panel has bright spot in the 3rd year.  The battery was also not good.  Both parts replaced during RMA.
