Insufficient info from Lenovo.  But I've recently talked (via online chat) to Dell support regarding bright/dead spot issue.  The manager told me that this kind of issue is not within the warranty coverage.  They would only proceed RMA when the component is "not working".

I'm using HP and Lenovo.  HP replaced the display panel (one white spot 白斑) of my x360 convertible.  It seems HP is still the best as far as white/bright/dead spot issue is concerned. And I just hoped that the captioned issue would not happen on my Lenovo Yoga!

Workaround (for next possible purchase):
I think buying the 3Y accidental damage protection might help.  It covers Customer Induced Damage!  Depends on which model, it might be not cheap.
