[滑鼠] Microsuck mouse problem, woes,......

本帖最後由 anon893 於 2013-7-30 22:47 編輯

Have wanted to get the Wireless Mobile 4000 so finally bought one last week.
BIG MISTAKE...

Looks like the newer batches in newer (ie. new logo) packaging are NOT compatible with Intellipoint (all versions incl. 7.1 and 8.2) and ONLY the newer Mouse/Keyboard Center 2.x (for Win7/8)

In this case, mouse can only be recognised as some 3rd party generic mouse and Intellipoint 8.2 canNOT detect the model at all, under XP and 7
The entire "Buttons" config palette (for mapping functions to the mouse buttons) is GREYED OUT

However, Intellipoint does recognise other Microsuck mouses eg. Wireless Laser 8000 and Basic Optical v2 with ZERO problem

Original sales location would NOT let me return the mouse so now I'm stuck with Synnex CS and all that gunk......

So... anyone here has got an earlier batch (eg. last year model with older red packaging) Mobile Wireless 4000 model?  And can someone confirm to me this earlier batch model DOES work with Intellipoint (under XP/Vista/7)?

Now, let's see if an older-batched unit (manufactured 2012 or before) does behave the same... hope it doesn't

Why not install Mouse/Keyboard Center 2.x?

Still using XP, so HOW??

BTW the mouse concerned may also NOT be detectable under OSX 10.6.x... additional testing is under way

why all the hate? of course the original store wont let you return

Some folks choose Microsuck mice for one reason: to make full use of Intellipoint software which is part of system settings

If the particular mouse model cannot be detected properly, then what's the point of paying more for a Microsuck compatible model?  If the mouse concerned is to be recognised and treated like any ordinary generic one then why don't I just get a $30+ cheapie?

In other words, for what I've paid, I'm NOT getting what I deserve... especially since even the support site says "yes it's compatible"

Latest update... Thx to Synnex intervention, "defective" unit has been replaced with NOS model (ie. older packaging w/older Microsuck logo) from original sales location
Problem solved (at least for now)... here's what went down

With mouse in current (ie. newer) packaging and logo:
1. Plug in Nano receiver, system detects new hardware but only recognises as "Nano Tranceiver v1.0"
2. Basic mouse function works, but Intellipoint driver fails to detect mouse model ie. "No Microsoft mouse detected"
3. Only newer Mouse/Keyboard Center 2.x  (Win7/8) can detect mouse model and allows for button programming

With mouse in older packaging and logo:
1. Plug in Nano receiver, system detects new hardware and recognises as "Nano Tranceiver v2.0"
2. Both Intellipoint (v8.2 up to Win7) and Mouse/KB Center (Win7/8) can detect mouse model and allow for button programming

When compatible Microsuck wireless (excluding Bluetooth wireless) mouse is properly installed and detected, highlighted item should show up in these windows (shown w/Intellipoint 7.1 installed)

Otherwise, your compatible mouse will be detected only as third party generic "HID compliant mouse" and will run only on default driver, not updated Intellipoint driver

Meanwhile, actual Mac Intellipoint compatibility still under investigation

Conclusion: problem with Nano receiver on newer stock units suspected
If you need a Microsuck mouse (esp. wireless) for use on older systems (XP/Vista/7) withe Intellipoint functions, you MUST get a new old stock (NOS) unit which unfortunately is becoming VERY scarce...
And if you end up getting the wrong one, then you may have problems returning and replacing it (although, YMMV)

it's dumb when MS makes newer models incompatible with older drivers when they should have... Glad that you have solved your problem for now

Especially since the official site says YES
http://www.microsoft.com/hardwar ... e/supported-devices
(don't get misled by the "Win8" title)
